5 GoHighLevel alternatives in 2026, compared on real cost and agent access
The sticker is $97. The bill is the sticker plus the add-ons plus the metering. Here is what the alternatives charge instead.
Why people leave GoHighLevel
- The sticker is a floor. $97 / $297 / $497, then AI Employee at $50 to $97 per sub-account, HIPAA $297, white-label mobile $497, premium support $500 (gohighlevel.com/pricing).
- The metered half varies with usage. Phone numbers, SMS, email sends and premium AI are billed separately, so the subscription price alone is not the full bill.
- The learning curve. Its most-cited complaint: 20+ menu categories with no on-ramp, plus tool sprawl and routine bugs (aigohighlevel.com/gohighlevel-review).
- Deliverability on migration. Sending needs a dedicated domain and a two-to-four-week warm-up; one documented 20,000-subscriber move saw opens fall from a range of 35% to 40%, down to 9% (infraforge.ai).
One thing this page will not say. HighLevel's Memberships product is not empty: it ships quizzes with a settable passing grade, automatic scoring and retakes, and issues certificates from a workflow action (help.gohighlevel.com). If somebody told you it has no LMS, they were wrong.
The five, in one table
| Platform | From | Cut of your sales | Metered on | Agent access | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GoHighLevel (yours) | $97 + metered | 0% | Sub-accounts, usage | $0.675 per 1,000 emails on every plan | Core CRM MCP; broader access depends on client and OAuth scopes |
| AXL | $49 Starter | 0% | Eight usage meters, same overage rates | 15,000 included on Starter, then $0.60 per 1,000 | Included on every plan |
| ClickFunnels | $97 | 0% | Contacts, workspaces, courses | 50,000 sends/mo on Launch | Scale $197, technical preview |
| Kartra | $59 | 5% Essentials, then 0% | Contacts, 500 → 25,000 | Unlimited from Starter | No first-party MCP |
| Kajabi | $179 | 0% on Kajabi Payments; 2% down to 0.5% with an eligible third-party provider | Contacts, products | Unlimited | Every plan, drafts only |
| Circle | $89 | 2% at $89, 1% at $199, 0.5% on Circle Plus | Admins, spaces, storage | Add-on, +$99/mo | Business $199, 5,000 calls/mo |
What each one is good at
AXL: if an agent should run it
The same architecture as HighLevel's agent surface (meta-tools over a discovered operation set), pointed at one business rather than a portfolio, and reaching course authoring, grading and certificates. From $49/month, 0% of revenue, no per-sub-account add-ons.
Why AXL: one customer-facing business gets courses, webinars, community, checkout, CRM and AI operations without sub-account add-ons. AXL vs GoHighLevel →
ClickFunnels: the funnel job, unmetered
Page, offer, bump, one-click upsell and follow-up: the category standard, with unlimited funnels and visitors, 10,000 contacts and 50,000 emails a month on the entry plan. $97 / $197 / $297 (clickfunnels.com/pricing).
The catch: courses capped at 3 / 6 / 10 / 20, and its MCP server needs Scale at $197 and is a technical preview.
Kartra: one bill, one business
Pages, checkout, memberships, unlimited email from Starter, video, affiliates and a helpdesk, with no sub-account model. $59 / $119 / $229 / $549; Essentials takes 5% (kartra.com/plans-and-pricing).
The catch: contacts are the meter at 500 / 2,500 / 12,500 / 25,000, and “AI uses” run 30 to 250 a month.
Kajabi: if the business is you
A polished expert-business platform with unlimited marketing email, podcast hosting and an agent on every plan. Basic is $179, Growth $249 and Pro $499 a month (kajabi.com/pricing).
The catch: the highest entry price here, contacts metered from 2,500, and agent writes that land as drafts.
Circle: if it is really a membership
Spaces and sections, threaded discussion, live rooms, events, and branded mobile apps as a custom-priced add-on. $89 at 2%, $199 at 1%; Email Hub is +$99/month for 10,000 contacts (circle.so/pricing).
The catch: 20 workflows below $199, where the API and MCP server also start, and the fee never reaches zero.
Your reason for leaving, and where it points
| Leaving because… | Pick |
|---|---|
| The add-on stack, not the plan | ClickFunnels or AXL: both bundle what HighLevel meters |
| Teaching became a real product line | AXL: grading queue, certificate designer, cohorts and webinars |
| One simple bill for one business | Kartra |
| Membership revenue is replacing client retainers | Circle |
Where AXL fits, and where it does not
It fits the HighLevel user who stopped being an agency: one business, real products, teaching or membership revenue, and an appetite for handing operational work to an agent.
It does not fit the agency model at all. Sub-accounts, snapshots, white-label resale and rebilling with markup are HighLevel's actual product, and we have no analogue.
Moving off GoHighLevel
- Contacts and fields CSV or XLSX
- Pipelines One agent pass
- Landing pages Cloned from their URLs
- Snapshots No equivalent, no importer
- Conversations and graphs Rebuilt, not converted
Budget the sending warm-up again. Deliverability follows the domain, not the platform.
The migration checklist →What is the real monthly cost of GoHighLevel?
The plan is $97, $297 or $497. Email is $0.675 per 1,000 on every plan. US SMS is $0.00747 per segment in either direction, plus carrier fees; phone numbers, calls and premium AI are separate too. AXL Starter includes 15,000 emails and 25,000 platform messages, then charges $0.60 and $0.40 per 1,000. Carrier SMS is a separate rate card, so we do not present it as the same unit.
Try the replacement before you cancel anything.
Import the contacts and rebuild one pipeline while the old account still runs. Plans start at $49 a month, with included usage and published overage rates.
